Preparing for a Crisis

Everyday people contact us in their quest to navigate the mental health system.

Many times people are seeking help for a family member or loved one who has stopped taking their medication and who no longer recognizes that they are ill.

There are a number of steps you can take to prepare for a crisis situation.  According to WSIL TV, the state of Illinois recently passed a law that provides another tool for families to prepare for emergencies involving a loved one with a severe mental illness.  The new law allows families to provide information to 911 centers prior to a crisis.
